> Mineral museum, Freiberg.

Subject: Design Project ( group work: 4 people).
Consultant: Prof. Michael Rohde.
Duration: 1 semester( 4 months).

The lighting design concept was derived from the process of getting the mineral from a mine.
The main concept is to make the gradation of illuminance from a low lux level on the ground floor to a higher lux level in the upper floors. Therefore, the last floor would have the highest lux level from all the project. Moreover, the types of displayed minerals will be consistent with the brightness.

For example, on the ground floor, there will be the opaque minerals and will be clearer and more sparkle in the upper floor. The use of relux was necessary to make the calculations and selection of the lamps and luminaires.

> Luminaire Design.

Task: to design and build a luminaire according to our needs, personality and taste, suitable to a specific place.
Location: student dormitory.

The light source provided in this room is a fluorescent lamp which emits white cold light. Indeed, a fluorescent lamp is a perfect solution to avoid shadows and become an ideal light source for a working place, but for a living space it creates an uncomfortable atmosphere.

For that reason, i decided to design a suspended luminaire, specifically for this space, which provides warmer light creating also a warmer atmosphere.

To obtain this effect, i used an incandescent light source (linestra) and the measures of the luminare are 10x10x50 cms.

Boards to support the results.

Wünschlichte, light of wishes, was the workshop about natural lightinstallation. Candle light and bonfire played an important role in this project.
As it name says, Wünchlichte lets the people get involved with the instalation and also interact with the other citizens and students.
Each pedestrian gets a cup ofcandle and write down a wish, then, the candle is layed on the ground creating a mountain of light and wishes. October 2006.

> Workshop at Rathaus Wismar.

Task: Light installation for 3 days in Rathaus Wismar.
Location: Wismar, Germany.

Silhouette of persons inside the building to simulate movement.

Combination of red, green and blue to create special shadows.

The concept for this project was to make the area more life, therefore, we decided to create colorfull shadows by using the combination of red, green and blue (RGB).

With this concept, people could be part of the project, just by walking or passing by the Rathaus. For the inside, we created human figures and placed them in the windows, making a silhouette effect and giving as a result a more lively building and a nice feeling of movement.

> Mood room, exhibition hall for Luis Barragan.

Task: to design the entrance hall for an exhibition of a famous architect from a lighting designer's view.

Entrance door.

Hall -section.

For this conceptual task, I selected Luis Barragan, a famous mexican architect who won the Pritzker Price in 1980.

As a hall, I created a narrow large tunel with a very low lux level where people would discover the entrance door at the enf of the corridor following the brightness of it.

The elements that Luis Barragan used on his architectural projects, were always related with religion, therefore, my concept was based on the door of the entrance by it self, where anytime that someone enter, the door would create a cross, and according to the amount of people who use it at the same time, the shape of the cross would change making it wider or narrow.
