Involved in lighting design proposal for architectural projects based on lighting calculations, special requirements and integrated solutions.
Participate in different phases, such as conceptual perception, design of special features when needed, presentations for clients, luminaire specifications, costs and lighting calculations, to end up with constructions plans and technical details.

Definition: Office building
Location: Dubai, UAE

My task: as a part of a project team I was involved in the graphic representation, lighting calculations and cost.
.
Description: the challenge of this project is the use of Green Building Rating System norms (LEED) in the lighting design proposal therefore accurate calculations and a particular selection of luminaires were necessary.
Due to the height of the sky scrapers in Dubai, the lighting concept is to give a taller appearance to the building through light.
.
2 beamers pointing to the sky make the building visible and easier to recognize in the skyline of Dubai. The 3-dimensional appearance of the building is enhanced as well accentuating the architectural features and the shape of the building itself.

> Emirates Park Tower Hotel

Firm: Kardorff Ingenieure Lighting Design - Berlin
Definition: 5 star luxurious Hotel for Emirates Airlines
Location: Dubai, UAE

My task: Load calculations, selection of luminaires, graphic visualizations, technical details.
.
Description: Emirates Park Tower Hotel is a prestigious 70 stories project of Emirates Airlines.
.
The scoop of work included façade lighting and interior areas.
The lighting concept for the interior areas was developed in conjunction with the interior architects in order to integrate the lighting features and effects with the architecture and spaces.
.
Every prototype was specially considered and designed giving the same language to all the areas but using different features. Technical details for specific areas and luminaire design were also developed.

> Airport terminal

Subject: Design Project ( group work: 2 people).
Consultant: Prof. Michael Rohde.
Duration: 1 semester( 4 months).
.
The concept was based on the different feelings of the users when travelling or arriving to their destination point, therefore the quality of light was important as well as the feeling of comfort.
Regarding the architecture in the building, many special considerations where taken into account while making the lighting design proposal, due to the clear structure of the building but mainly to the glass facade which could glare or reflect too much.
.
The most interesting and innovative challenge in this project was the design of luminaires for the waiting area; 3 types of luminaires with the same shape but different light distribution were design and calculated, in order to have the same lux level along the whole building.
.
The result is a well lit area where the traffic points are emphasized by donwlights so the users can easily find the key areas and transit without orientation problems.
